Cycling for change

In October, Network Ten challenged a group of their staff members to participate in a CARE Cycle Challenge. Brimming with enthusiasm, the team of ten courageously rode 500kms along the banks of the mighty Mekong River into the highlands of Northern Laos. Doing so, they raised over $37,000 and witnessed first hand how their hard-earned fundraising dollars can support families living in poverty.

From handle-bar view, the group rode through breathtaking scenery, down winding roads nestled between mountains and rivers, absorbing the local culture. Cheered on by local children every step of the way and fuelled by team spirit, the participants were thrilled to arrive at CARE’s water and sanitation project in Phongsaly Province where they saw the benefits of accessing clean water, health services and even livestock banks.

‘After our project visit with CARE, and seeing first hand how the money raised has been used was one of the most incredible moments in my life. This was truly a life changing adventure not to be forgotten.’ Darren Biddulph, Network Ten.
